BRC Nutrition Talk for Runners

Registered dieticians and Gráinne McMacken and Laura Mahoney will hold a bumper session for fellow BRC members:

7:00-8:00pm "Part 1: Healthy Eating” is about getting the basics right and your daily eating habits.

8:15-9:15pm “Part 2: Fuelling Your Training” outlines how to optimise your performance through nutrition.

People hear lots of stories about what to eat and what not to eat, so we thought we'd ask the experts. We've divided into two parts, which build on each other and will be of great benefit to everyone, not just runners. We could all eat more healthily - especially me! - and good advice is always welcome. Whilst for those looking at racing, particularly 10miles+ and marathons proper fuelling is critical. Many people spend hundreds of hours training only to get nutrition wrong. Everyone has different diet preferences, so come along, learn from the experts and ask plenty of questions in an informal friendly environment.

Ask plenty of questions: do you need gels? what to eat before race? when to eat before training? what about hydration? does beetroot juice really work? what if i have a sweet tooth?
